Stratus Neuro

There are a range of conditions that present as recurrent paroxysmal events with neurological features that may mimic seizures and be misdiagnosed as epilepsies. In this webinar, Fawad A. Khan, M.D. will present an overview of these conditions and important discriminating features, including diagnostic data from EEG. This is the first in a series looking at these conditions.

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • discuss common presentations of seizure mimickers and their characteristics
  • understand the diagnostic approach and testing needed to differentiate these conditions

About the Presenter

Dr. Fawad A. Khan is a board-certified academic epileptologist and director of The International Center for Epilepsy at Ochsner Neurosciences Institute (level 4 epilepsy program) located in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is an associate professor of neurology at The University of Queensland, Ochsner Clinical School. Dr. Khan serves on several committees including quality improvement, bioethics, and continuing medical education (CME). Dr. Khan’s clinical and research interests include epilepsy surgery, critical care EEG, and utilization of neurodiagnostic studies.
